Levi’s Gran Fondo 2012

We are looking forward to this event on 9/29/2012 at the Finley Center in Santa Rosa. 7, 500 bicyclists will be mounted up for multiple different “non competitive” rides through beautiful Sonoma County. We will be serving our Petaluma Grown Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms to the riders and well as the general public. We will also have Sonoma Grown Salad, and Grass-fed Steak Sandwiches available. There is a small carnival like event from 10-6 that Saturday with live music and vendors–so come check it out. (It’s also completely free!) http://www.levisgranfondo.com/

National Heirloom Expo, 2012

This event in Santa Rosa is, in our opinion one of the bests of its kind. They had everything here, from speakers for GMO food labeling to small mom and pop cottage kraut producers. A great chance for us to exhibit exactly the farm to table experience that our business is all about, directly to people who care as much as we do about food’s role in our local economies. We served our Petaluma Grown Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, filled with organic CA grown Non-GMO Certified brown rice, Sonoma grown chard, squash, basil and tomatoes topped with organic toasted sesame seeds and asiago cheese. They were a huge hit! We brought a very earthy taste to a very down to earth crowd–we will definitely be back next year!

Taste of Sonoma 2012

This event was off the hook! Taste of Sonoma is a marvelous part of “Wine Country Weekend” in Sonoma County. People came from all around to this Wine and Chef tasting extravaganza, and we were honored to be invited! Our first time being featured at Taste of Sonoma, we had to go with our quiche and with local pasture raised eggs from Felton Acres in Sebastopol, locally smoked ham and bacon from Willowside Meats in Santa Rosa, and Fresh picked greens and tomatoes from Green Valley Farm–we really gave the other chefs a run for their money!

Laguna Farm Festival

This benefit for KWTF Radio went really well. A very relaxing place to sell our quiche and other organic meals, and also a great networking hub. Cool punk-rock type and bluegrass music all day long in beautiful Sebastopol summer weather. I had a great time talking with all of the organizers and am really behind supporting these guys and what they are trying to do. Learn more about them at kwtf.net.

Doctor’s Lunch at Kaiser in Santa Rosa

August 7th

Doctor Cheryl Hostetter from Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa liked our steak sandwich at the Occidental Farmer’s market and asked us if we would make it for one of her employee meetings. Boy did they get a deal. We brought them six locally sourced, grass-fed steak sandwiches served hot and juicy (along with one vegetarian portobello sandwich) with a side of Sonoma grown salad picked just that morning. We cut the steak on the spot and plated this delectable cuisine on our flower shaped retro glass plates–it look amazing!

Petaluma Music Festival

This event on August 4th was a blast! Good music, great crowd and great organizers made this party really fun. Smack in the middle of both mine, Rachel and Grandma’s birthdays (August 2nd, 6th and 7th) we served Organic Portobello salad, Organic Portobello Sandwiches, Grass Fed Steak Sandwiches and Grass Fed Steak Salad–and people ate it right up! It is really encouraging running events such as these because although people paid all this money to get into the event itself (which is great because the entire thing was a fundraiser for local schools) but they still brought with them enough insight to appreciate a gourmet local organic meal with their dollar too. I really look forward to participating in this event next year!
